kc outdoorsman
Hello from new member here in KC. One question- anyone know of a place near Kansas City where I could get some Ancient Age 10 year or AAA?
kc outdoorsman
any other recommendations for good bourbon under $15 bottle here in KC?
JB64
Evan Williams is one of my favorite low cost bourbons. You can find it everywhere.
RaylanGivens
If $15 is your threshold period, I would say OGD BIB, which can be had all over KC for that price. My recommendation is add a couple bucks and grab Buffalo Trace, which can be found on sale regularly for $18ish. Price Chopper also has WT101 for 19 fairly often. And if you go even a tad higher in the 20-22 range, EC12 and Weller Antique or OGD 114 are great pours. kc outdoorsman
I dig BT, OGD was fine but not my style. With gas $$ like it is I have to watch my budget
Brisko
Can you get Fighting Cock down there? It should be in that price range.
RaylanGivens
We do have FC, forgot about that one. Also in the 18 range is Rittenhouse BIB, if you're down to try a good rye.
BBQ+Bourbon
Welcome aboard! I live in the Parkville area and up here Gomer's has Rittenhouse BIB for $22.99. Like everything in that store it's overpriced but they offer 5% discount if you sign up for their promo. My suggestion in that price range is Evan Williams BIB which is $22.99/handle at a little store in Riverside. It's a far better pour than black label and just a few bucks more. The same place has Fighting Cock for around $13. Red neX in Riverside has OGD114 at $20 and BIB for around $15. I can tell you where to buy Weller 12 at $36/handle if you want to PM me. I've been in every liquor store in the metro and well beyond, and have never found any AAA or AA10. It's not distributed to our state afaik. kc outdoorsman
yeah thanks... the distributor said AAA was availabel in KS but never could tell me where. I tried most of the above and so far, Buffalo is my fav in the range. Yet to try rye. I did see Hyvee has EW BIB in a 1/5. Never seen that before and I will try it. Still, Weller is hard to beat in my price $13 at Price Chopper

BBQ+Bourbon
Speaking about that, I think I'll pour some WSR from Stitzel Weller to help me pontificate.
