Neat
during a recent dusty hunting outing, the store owner and i got to talking and he told me that a few years ago, some guy had 4 or 5 CASES  of wt 12 yo for sale (store owner doesn't know how he got it - this was not a distributer but a private individual who wanted to unload the turkeys) and the store owner bought it all. he quickly sold out. (DUH). anyone here get some of this treasure trove? if so, any left?

Ian S.
I'm guessing that this supposedly took place in Houston?I highly doubt that this actually happened seeing that most liquor store owners aren't looking to break TABC law. He could lose his license for such a purchase.
BradleyC
I've bought rare older bottles on 2 different occasions from store owners who bought back bottles from spouses or families of customers who had passed away.I also found 9 bottles of WT 12 year split labels this year. I'm sure there are quite a few left out there somewhere.I highly doubt that this actually happened seeing that most liquor store owners aren't looking to break TABC law. During my dusty hunts, I've run into liquor store owners who openly purchase stolen goods (power tools, cell phones, etc., ) and re-sell them in their store. Forget losing license, they could go to jail for that crap.
