Purchased a bottle of "Old Dispensary Brand XXXX Kentucky Straight Corn Whiskey BIB" today. It has no UPC so it puts it at least in the early 1980s. It does have DSP-KY-12 on it. I cannot find anything about it by Googling. Has anyone heard of it and/or know anything about it?

Thanks,

I doubt it's that long ago. What size is the bottle? Does it have a state tax stamp? Does it have a federal tax strip across the top? Does it have a tamper-resistant cap?

It's 1 liter. It does not have a tamper resistant top or UPC code but does have a paper seal over the top. It does say distilled at Barton Distilling Company in Bardstown, KY.

I would guess late '80s, then. Can't help with the whiskey, though. Is it aged at all? Does it have any color?

I'm thinking that liter sized bottles were not used in the US before the late `70s. I believe that anything labeled "bottled in bond" has to be at least four years old. I know corn whiskey is not aged in new charred oak barrels. I'm not sure if it is aged in un-charred barrels, used cooperage, or either?
