Lab Walker
Hey all,Been reading the new James Bond book. He's 30, 6 ft, 170 lbs, does not smoke and he likes American bourbon. Specifically Basil Hayden! Thought for sure he would prefer Blanton's but???? And, he is Scottish/Swiss born, but no mention of scotch...go figure. As an aside, tried the new [to us in PA] Angel's Envy...very nice!
Stones
Originally the writer of the books and the Bond character had a penchant for bourbon and they changed it to vodka and martini for the films.

cowdery
When Pierce Brosnan got the role, Bond's car became a BMW and his drink became Jack Daniel's. In "Casino Royale," Daniel Craig's Bond tells Judy Dench's M that her "predecessor kept a bottle of cognac," to which she brusquely replies, "I prefer bourbon." PaulO
Looking at the ad with Sean Connery, let's not forget that that was the Beam of the '60s - early '70s, not the current stuff.
Shuboy
When Pierce Brosnan got the role, Bond's car became a BMW and his drink became Jack Daniel's. In "Casino Royale," Daniel Craig's Bond tells Judy Dench's M that her "predecessor kept a bottle of cognac," to which she brusquely replies, "I prefer bourbon."Um, I'm pretty sure that was Pierce Brosnan in Goldeneye. In Casino Royale, Daniel Craig's James Bond orders a Mount Gay and soda and later a Vesper martini but no bourbon is mentioned in that film.As a bit of trivia, Ian Fleming was quite fond of bourbon so the books do feature Bond ordering a bourbon and water. When Live and Let Die was made the producers decided to distance the film from the previous entries so Roger Moore's Bond only orders bourbon and waters rather than vodka martinis.
