Columbus OH - Any Good Bars

I'll be staying in North Columbus for our races at Mid-Ohio this weekend. Are there any good bars for either a good bourbon selection and/or good craft beer selections? Thanks.

Not much of a bar frequenter myself, but the most well known whiskey-centered bar in columbus would probably be barrel 44 in the short north. From what I understand, they have a good selection of whiskey, including bourbon, as well as excellent food. However, I've heard from several people that the service is horrible, so keep that in mind.

On that end of town is the Winking Lizard, tons of micros. There's also a BJ's on Polaris parkway, they brew their own. Tons of other bars in the area, don't know about the bourbon selection.

Downtown Cbus has at least three local brewpubs and a Gordon Biersch. And barrel 44 is the only whiskey-specific bar in town, but I've never been there.

Bumping an old thread, but I've been to Barrel 44 a few times now and felt the need to comment. I found the service there to be good, if slow. Granted, I've only sat on the bar side, but once the server waits on you the first time, the service has been more than adequate. You just need to exercise a little patience.

They do have excellent food though, happy hour is a must.
