Gillman
A new product on the market in Ontario, the brand name is Spicebox, described as a "Spiced Whisky". 35% ABV. The back label states it has hints of vanilla and dried spices. I'd agree, indeed the vanilla is quite forward, and the whisky is sweet, I'd think there is a sugar addition. A nice product but I'd have preferred something with a bigger whisky taste.Gary
Gillman
I should add the label states, Product of Canada and the words True Canadian Spirit appear also, with a statement the whisky is at least three years old. It's from a company in Montreal but not much other information on the label regarding origin.I tried it mixed 50/50 with Crown Royal and the taste profile is much closer to what I like, it still has a strong vanilla and spice taste but you can taste the whisky more.Gary

moose
I had some of this about a week back, will not purchase again. Tried it on a whim from a few recommendations from work. The nose is very assertive, strong vanilla, slight cinnamon and nutmeg. Slightly hot upon entry, but strong vanilla ice cream flavors come to the forefront. Smooth finish, little sweet and sticky, but goes down smooth. This was more similar to a rum in flavor profile than it is to a whisky in my view, it was okay mixed with cola, water did nothing for it, and I didn't think to mix it with another whisky. If you want a really sweet, concentrated vanilla bomb of a spirit, this is right up your alley. I would pass on purchasing it again.
