Old Rip Van Winkle 10yr (idk if it's the 90 or 107)

Talisker 10yr

Balvenie 17yr peated cask

Redbreast 15

Macallan 12

and two others they haven't listed yet

Would you have any trouble telling these 5 apart?

Just for the record, this isn't my selection, this will take place at one of my local watering holes.

Supposedly there are prizes for those who can correctly name all of the whiskeys...

I feel that I would have no problem identifying each correctly, provided that I know which five are being poured. Each of the whiskies you listed has a significantly different smell and taste.

The peat in that Balvenie can't compare with the Talisker's level of fire and brimstone. The Balvenie was only aged a bit extra in casks that previously held Islay malts.

The Redbreast will have that distinct Irish pure pot still flavor. It will be the smoothest of the bunch.

The Macallan you could identify just on the color, alone. Nevermind the sherry that you'll smell and taste.

The Old Rip Van Winkle should be easy, too. It's the only bourbon, and is going to have that corn flavor that you won't find in the malt whiskies, nor in the Redbreast.
