Enoch
I found several bottles of older Saz18 and WLW and want to know if there are better years to look out for before I go back. I didn't notice the years when I was there. The owner says he thinks they were in the store when he bought it about seven years ago but can't remember for sure. Thanks, ENoch
fishnbowljoe
The Saz 18 has been tanked for several years now. I'm assuming most people would agree that it's been pretty much all about the same. As for the WLW, you'll get a lot of differing opinions about which years were best. A general list for how I believe most people would rank them would be:#1. 2006-129.9 proof#2. 2005-121.9 proof#3. 2008-125.3 proof#4. 2010-126.6 proof#5. 2007-117.9 proof#6. 2009-134.8 proofMy opinion differs a bit. I would rank them like this.#1. 2005, #2. 2007, #3. 2006, #4. 2010, #5. 2008, #6. 2009Most people agree that the 2009 offering has been the least favorite. It's very "hot" and most of the flavors are covered up by the high proof/alcohol. Adding water helps, but only so much. Some people don't care for the 2007 because of the low(er) proof, but I absolutely love it. :yum: Just my opinion. YMMV  Cheers! Joe
White Dog
This is quite interesting to read. Before I go further, let me say that I love Larue, and have gone thru 2010, 2008, and 2007 at home.My only experience with the 2009 was at a restaurant in Milwaukee. The bottle had been open for a little over a year(I happen to know the bar manager who had bought it.), and when I tried it, I ended up getting the very last pour, which was LOADED with chunks of charcoal. It remains the most wonderful, and decadent, pour of Larue I've ever had. (It was a double, and I did cut it slightly after my first taste.) timd
Saz 18 = always good. One of the hardest to come by of the BTAC in my experience. I buy all I can, and it's never enough.
fishnbowljoe
I wonder where the 2011 will fit into those lists.Had a sample of the 2011 WLW Saturday. I was a bit surprised. Though it was high proof like the 09, the high proof didn't cover up the flavor. A splash of water made it even better. Not bad. Much better than the 09. For my own personal taste, it ranks somewhere in there with the 08 and 2010 around #5 or #6. JoeIt was good enough that I bought a bottle.

SMOWK
There are still a few bottles of Saz18 from last year lingering around locally. I noticed the last time I was in one shop that they marked them up to 90.99 from 60.99 in anticipation of this year's release. An odd business practice, I thought. MissinER101
I have found liquor stores here in Colorado that have the full BTAC 2010 collection sitting on the shelf, one has 6 bottles of GTS.The move has put the hurt on my finances, but I plan on getting a couple bottles of the THH and WLW which are my favorites, will also have to get 1 or 2 of GTS.
