silverfish Posted December 11, 2011 Share Posted December 11, 2011 Can anyone confirm the year Pappy Van Winkle died?The BT website lists "Up until his death in 1963, ..."The Old Rip website (History section) lists:"In May of 1935 at the age of 61,..." "...until his death at the age of 91."which would mean 1965.And that's not counting WikiPedia which states "At the time of his death in 1965 at the age of 89,..."I'm guessing aged 91 in 1965 is probably it but I was just curious. A big 75th birthday party in April of 1949 is also described. But, i don't know that April was his birth month for sure. She states that he passed in February of 1965.
