First off, I apologize for creating so many bouts between bottlings of late. However, this time of year, my funds are not as bountiful as I would like, and I need to get a gift for a buddy or two. I would rather take the people's advice on this forum than some guy at binny's who usually drinks scotch.

Note: I was already with him last week when he got the PHC 2010 and loved it, but he also really likes rye whiskies.

I know they're opposites, but that's partly why I was wondering. Which is the better bottling in your opinion and which is more complex? Favorite between the two?

Also considering the WT tradition.

I have all three here and they're all very nice representations of their particular style of bourbon/whiskey. IMO you can't really go wrong with any of them...the PHC will probably be easier to get later on vs. the others as they're specialty bottlings.

If the PHC was harder to find around here I would say get that one but seeing as that's not the case I would go with one of the Bowman bottles. ;)

Go with the A Smith Bowman Rye. If it is hard to get now and impossible later much better gift and he will remember you when trying to find more.

but then again I am VERY VERY biased. :)
