Did it ever occur to you that there might be a reason why no one else has asked the question? If you weren't an arrogant newbie who just wants what he wants, you might have thought of that. That's the problem with forums.

The issue isn't that u just joined....its that u been lurking for X amount of time but live in the OPs area so u decided to make an account just to find out which store this was. If he posts the store ur going to instantly go there and buy every bottle u can afford and possibly that is all of them and put them on eBay as well most likely. Regardless if the info is posted there won't be a single bottle left at that price within 2 weeks. If u were actually a contributing member of the forums/community u would have known to just PM him and 95% of the time ur going to actually be told exactly which store it is.

I'm curious tho, why as a new member do u think ur entitled to be treated the same as everyone else when u bring nothing to the table and have nothing to offer...all u do is want what u want? If u have something to actually offer why didn't u join before or why don't u actually establish urself amongst the community first?

Strangers are treated differently than friends and acquaintences on internet forums and in real life.

To answer your question directly, yes I would pause and ask questions if a stranger asked me for insider information in a face to face situation.

While devolving into a mini-trainwreck, this thread has actually taken on a second, useful path. I'm a veteran of the wine board game (my business), so knew a few of the landmines to side step, but via PM offered to buy some bourbons posters had expressed a desire to move (with a small bunker and a desire to expand and drink more of the cool stuff I read about on here). Unaware that flipping was as big an issue here as it is in the wine world, I understand why I received some of the responses I received. My advice to fellow noobs -- read the thread, from what I can tell everyone on here is quite helpful & polite -- don't ruin it by drive-bys & blatant flip attempts. And if you are serious about being here, don't take the criticism personally and learn from it -- there is probably a good reason for the way things are done.

Apparently what I said was wrong. 'flipping' was not my intent. I did PM the op before I posted this, but I wasn't sure if people checked pm's on here so I posted it on the forum as well. I do not have 60 bucks to spend on anything but rent right now, but I thought that this store might have other deals in my price range, so your BTAC is safe. Also, see post #13. This is the last I will say about the topic, please excuse my ignorance.

Stick around and learn. Theres a real reason for the reaction that you experienced. I think we all have stories of exposing finds here only to see the bottles disappear. There are many lurkers here with the intent to suck up bottles that are left behind.
