i've been off the boards for a few months. as some of you are aware, while my wife was at my mother-in-law's this past summer, i kept stumbling into dusty finds. due to a lack of self restraint and the ease with which plastic slips out of a leather wallet seemingly of its own free will, despite my best efforts to hide my acquisitions, upon my wife's return, the sheer volume of my delightful discoveries and a noisy neighbor with a mouth the size of the grand canyon resulted in a wife first going into shock and then doing a pretty darn good impression of a psychotic murderer. (the neighbor doesn't like me and saw me unloading the car a few times).

i had to lay low (literally in order to dodge numerous objects hurled in my direction). i missed out on this year's btac release :hot: and had to stay off the boards for fear, i mean respect, of the whiskey hating banshee.

missed the comraderie on this board. just wanted to come on the board and wish all of you a happy holiday season. may you and yours enjoy good health and prosperity in the new year and may your bunker be full and safe from a resentful spouse.

I hope some of that was in jest, "dodging objects". Getting the silent treatment and having to go without sex for a while is one thing but throwing stuff is beyond the pale.

Anyhow, merry Christmas and welcome back.

I have tried many techniques in bringing bottles home. My recent favorite is to show her that the bottle has no government warning, back when they made alcohol that was safe for pregnant women to drink.

I don't bother hiding anything. I just buy it and bring it in the house. The wife isn't exactly supportive of my "interest", but she doesn't give me any grief over it.

Wishing everyone here at SB a great holiday season. :toast:

the dodging objects was in jest - but it came pretty darn close to having to dodge.

you are lucky. in all fairness, i did push it with all the dusty purchases. however, it was worth it. i found goodies i never thought i'd see because the early birds picked houston pretty clean of dusties.

Happy Holidays to you too, and welcome back. I hope to see you back on the boards more now.

As far as an angry wife.... as the saying goes, "And this, too, shall pass away."

Cheers! Joe
