maskaggs
Hey guys,I'm new to bourbon collecting, but am looking to add to my stock. I ran across a few sale items today and was wondering how good of a deal these actually are. I stumbled across 1) Old Charter 101 (1.5L) for $18.49 and 2) Evan Williams Single Barrel (750 mL) for $24.99. Do these qualify as meh, think about it, or absolute steal prices? moose
The EWSB is no deal there, especially if its the new (2001) release. I like to stock up on my EWSB when I see it at $19.99.
CoMobourbon
As far as I understand, whiskey prices vary significantly from state to state and even city to city - such that it's basically impossible for anyone but your next-door neighbor to give you good advice on minor price differences. For instance, I have noticed that everthing tends to be a little more in Columbia, Mo than STL. So, given my local pricing conditioning, I would say that price on the EWSB is to me good but probably not shockingly good.

We moved from the Louisville area (great bourbon selection) to Northern Indiana (crap bourbon selection), with nowhere to compare regional differences in between, so I forgot location can make a big difference.Given my approach to collecting I'm more interested in finding lower priced gems than snatching up other stuff that may have a dubious price/quality ratio.
