nychristopher
Took the advice of the rep at Binny's (on Grand in Chicago) and got the 90 (he thought the 100 was a little one dimensional). I was unfamiliar with VOB; having lived on the east coast for the last 15 years and not recalling having seen VOB, I sought guidance. I rather like the 90, but based on what folks have said here, I will try the 100 next time. (These days, I consider Old Grand Dad Bonded my day-to-day go to.) T Comp
My last few bottles of the BIB have been better than ever with little to none of the banana ester funk that was often present in the older squat bottles. At 6 years old it would still be distillate made under Constellation ownership but perhaps better barrels are being picked and batched by Sazerac as they increase distribution of the line. steeltownbbq
It's comforting to know that while I can't buy VOB in either Ohio or PA, my SB brothers in WV, AZ, KS and MO are in the same boat. 1792 I can find, but won't buy. Seems like a no-brainer that if you want to sell whiskey and have a value priced product of exceptional quality you would want it in as many markets as possible. I'm on my last bottle of VOB 100; 'bout time for another trip down I-71.

There are a couple of stores that spend the extra money and special order some products I have never been to these stores yet.
camduncan
The last time we did an order from Binnys, I threw in a VOB 90 proof on a whim to round out the case. Unfortunately 2/3 of the bottle leaked on it's journey around the world, but the 1/3 that did survive is some great stuff! I've not tried the 100 proof so can't compare, but based on the 90, I'd definately give it a go.
