BFerguson
The last pour of a '09 GTS hit the glass. This is a "dirty" pour if ever one. Loads of char, after some water, looks like murky, peaty water. But going to enjoy every last drop!B
PozzSka
Finished off a bottle of bulleit and eagle rare 10yr at my family Xmas party last Saturday. Sharing will so that I suppose, though they weren't full at the time.
Special Reserve
Will, that is pretty unusual for our area. Those days are over now.I agree that WLW 07 is excellent. Too bad I got into bourbon only a couple years ago. Was lucky enough to at least find one bottle. Feel fortunate for even finding one.Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2Tony,I completely agree with your comments. What I've found is that older stuff just shows up in stores from time to time in such a manner that I think there are bottles lost in the retail stores. Monday I when into a store that is near me that I've been in frequently. I asked about rye and from under the counter up came a Thomas H Handy stored away. What I think happened with the WLW07 that I found was a lost case (a case is three bottles) just recent placed on the retail shelves.I've found dusty bottles in stores that suddenly appeared not having been on the shelves earlier in time. It never hurts to hunt if you are so inclined. Will

I know of a store with THH in the area with several different years. Yeti
Poured the last (several) ounces of GTS12 into my favorite glass to watch the big game tonight. I'm not fond of either program, but head-to-head I have to say Roll Tide!
Pirate762
In the last couple of days I have finished a Larceny 1.75, a Col. E. H. Taylor SB, and a EWSB2000. All great pours in different ways.Jim Edited January 11, 2013 by Pirate762 Spelling
petrel800
Emptied the 2009 4R Mariage last night. Bottle definitely had its high and low points, was very wound up when I first opened it, the brilliance showed for the middle third of the bottle, but it faded into an Oakey mess towards the end. If I ever grab another, I'll focus solely on that bottle when I open it because it did not fare well with time in my opinion.

unclebunk
All this football since New Years Day has had bottles flying out of here (too many to mention by name, though my traditional football "session" bourbons--Fighting Cock, JTS Brown BIB and VOB BIB were among them). I'm almost looking forward to that lull between football ending and baseball returning just to give my liver a rest!
michaelturtle1
After an evening dealing with my sister in-law I felt compelled to Finish all of my remnant bottles tonight... Lot B, HW16 and an ND Old Taylor.. Thankfully all of these are easily replaced by a short trip to the basement, and by the fact it is easier to find ND Old Taylor around me than it is to find the "new" Old Taylor

stevegoz
I'm reducing my beer intake in favor of more bourbon, and wanted to reduce my open-bottle count to start working my way through some bottles. To that end, tonight I killed off a Fall 2005 bottling of Eagle Rare 17 and a two-year-old bottle of PVW 20. Each bottle contained just enough to fill up to the top of the widest part of a Glencairn. UncleJohnsBarrel
Just finished off the second bottle I had purchased on Weller 12, I was trying to do a side by side tasting to improve my tasting ability with EC12 and Weller 12 and after one sip of each realized the bottles had turned (these were both almost gone and I should have known better than to try and do a tasting with them). Anyway, I am on a no-whiskey-buying-budget until the end of the month and will have to hope that rumors of a Weller 12 shortage are unfounded because this can't be the last bottle of it I have. She was a good Weller....
smokinjoe
Just knocked out my bottle of Rare Breed that I picked up for Thanksgiving. Ya know, they could put Bourbon Supreme in a bottle of Wild Turkey and I'll still buy a bottle for Thanksgiving. It's just right...Anywho, the whiskey was as I expected. Depending on my mood, it went from "OK" to "Wow, this is really good". But, as I carried the empty out to the trash, I slowed and began to glance at the bottle in my hand...spun it around a few times...really took a good look at the label...the printing font of the "Rare Breed" is perfect...the graphics with the turkey and what appears to be a hill/small mountain with some building I suspect is the old distillery, is cool...the Wild Turkey "medallion" pressed into the glass...the unique shape of the bottle...the the wood topped cork...the bits of "pertinent" information on the various labels...and I concluded, that this is one fine presentation. Makes my memories of it's contents all the better. And, I'm fine with that. I know that as enthusiasts we oftentimes and proudly say, "I only care what's IN the bottle...Well, I'll admit it...I can be a sucker FOR the bottle... T Comp
Following up Joe's Rare Breed... a Kentucky Spirit light top bottled on 1/9/09 gave up it's last ounce for me. Same experience as Joe, it varied from good to great, depending on the mood. I still remember the wow moment, laying in the yard hammock, late May, dusk setting in and my daughter having been honored at her high school graduation earlier in the day. This will be one of the few empties I keep around as it was signed by Jimmy, and no, not Troyce , in 2010.
higgins
Finished up a bottle of George Dickel Barrel Select. A little too expensive to have one open all the time, but they sure are doing something right down in Tullahoma. One of the best noses under $40, in my opinion.
