yountvillewjs
handle of Makers hit the bin last night. open for about a year, solid performer and will re-appear at a later date -- but it was taking up valuable real estate and I've now got room for maybe two more newbs. I'm thinking maybe Bourye & CEHT Tornado...

jeanraulmitchell
How was it? I found some tax stamped 86 proof the other day that I'm looking forward to trying.Hi Roc the bib was fantastic. I think this bottle was from the early '70s. The nose wasn't it's best quality but it was pleasant, not quite honey and not quite orange extract but like a less sweet almond oil that had dried. The taste was like a dark chocolate covered cherry, not a fresh cherry but a bright red one in sugar syrup and as you moved it around in your mouth the char came out. The taste was amazing but not vibrant but it never burned either so you could roll it around to really taste. The finish was quick and char again. I would drink this everyday. It was young and to the point and didn't change a lot depending on what I would eat. I knew I was going to enjoy it with every reach. I have another bottle from the early '80s but I will wait and see if I can find another bib in my hunting before rushing through the next one like I did this. One of my favorite dusty finds yet.I do see a lot of old 86 proof in Los Angeles so if you like it, I could probably direct you to a few places that have it. petrel800
Not sold in Georgia to the best of my knowledge...I pick mine up in Kentucky.Yeah, I've figured that much . . . I would have definitely seen it by now if it was sold here. That being said, have you ever tried ordering from The Party Source. I've been debating putting in a big order for some AAA and getting a couple additional bottle of their private 4 Roses stuff (the bottle of OBSK I brought back is fantastic). Their website claims they can ship to GA. They were great to deal with in person when I was up there in the spring.

Shipping's not too bad when it's for 4 bottles, plus no tax.
Phil T
TPS is second to none in shipping efficiency. I think their packaging could withstand a nuclear blast. And if you order by early afternoon, it will be shipped the same day. An adult signature is required to receive the package

Flyfish
Well, it's Friday of a pretty rough week. Purely by coincidence, this is the week that I emptied the OGD 114 on Monday, an OWA handle on Tuesday, a AAA handle on Wednesday, and an Old Ezra 101 on Thursday. The good new is, we're headed to a party tonight so I'll be depleting somebody else's liquor cabinet.

Young Blacksmith
killed off a dusty OF 86 375 last night, just kept getting better and better every pour. Next on the block is a JW Dant BIB 2/31.
AaronWF
Finally poured the last of a Vintage 21 bourbon. It very much had the profile of a tired, over-aged EC18 that cost a good 50% more. I will say that the over-abundance of soggy wood did well to absorb all the peat left over on my palate after sampling some out-of-this-world CS Longrow 11yo.Incidentally, I also killed a Tornado and an '11 Stagg last weekend. Finally some room to breath in my cabinet! But not for long.

petrel800
I emptied the last of my EWSB 2001 bottle last night. It sat on the shelf for a long while and I had some stuff I wanted to open, so I set out to finish the bottle up. As I drank more of it, I remembered why I liked it. I think a local store has some of the 2000 left. I think I'll grab a bottle to taste the difference between the vintages.

WAINWRIGHT
WSR 7 and a Bookers 127.6 ,the Bookers open well over a year and killed most of the "Beam Funk" last couple of pours from this bottle were quite enjoyable. If you have a couple of years to let it open up/oxidize,not bad but definately not a repeat purchase for me.
