Empty Bottle Support Group 2012

I have space for two more bottles in my cabinet after toppling a 2008 OFBday. I really enjoyed this bottle (perhaps evidenced by the fact that it lasted a mere two weeks). An unmistakably dilly entrance segued into a very fruity palate (think grape juice) balanced with layered vanilla and tempered by a watery quality that took the edge off just right. The finish added an appropriate wood for an altogether scrumptious and very drinkable bourbon. I'd pick up another one at $30 in a heartbeat, even $40. The $56 a store near me wants for theirs... well I'll see how I feel in a month or two - if it's still there.

Polished off the last of a bottle of ORVW 10 107 last night. Had a couple pours with a steak and then a couple more while eating these home made cookies the wife made, some sort of thumb print chocolate cookie with a maraschino cherry in the depression and toped with home made chocolate frosting. Holy crap those things are adictive! And realy good with ORVW. I can't get her to add a little bourbon to the frosting.

Those cookies are killer. My mom made those for years, and passed the recipe down to my wife, who makes them every Christmas. Crap, now you got me pining for them for the next 3 months!!

I killed another OGD114. What a great casual drinker this stuff is, and such an outlier among the Beam bunch. There's nothing particularly interesting about this stuff, but I find it to be a very clean, orange-vanilla-hinted sipper with a nice mouth-feel and a kick that can be a hoof to your puss if you're not too careful. I'm sure it will be replaced shortly.

Finished a Weller 12, Bourye, and 4RLESB 2012 this weekend. Making a conscious effort to finish low-fill bottles to make space for some bottles I've been wanting to open.

PHC from 2011 finished in the Cognac barrels. A good bottle but i am ok for it to be done. Now I need to hunt for some of the one from this year.

Knocked out my bottle of Eagle Rare 2011. It will be missed, just super enjoyable. No worries I have a 2008 in the bunker, and I'll be sure to grab a 2012.

How much do I like the HH Larceny? My first bottle just gave up the ghost in less than 2 weeks. OK, had some help at KBF. But, it will not hit the dump. I'll be refilling it from the Family sized bottle I picked up at the same time.

A 375 of JW Dant 2/31 hit the bottle wall box tonight. Sampled along side a 2/16, I actually prefer the 2/31. A bit more caramel, sweetness, almost like comparing EC12 and 4R1B. The 2/16 is great, but has a small lack of depth, lack of barrel influence, to it. Very interesting.

I'll be picking up the liter of 2/31 I know of around town.

This is one that seems to need a long time to develop to the point where I find it really enjoyable. In the beginning of this bottle, I was pretty indifferent to it. But after giving it much time to sit patiently away, it keep getting better.

Squeezed the last drop from the OWA during OSU v. MSU. (Always say I cry at the end of Ol' Weller.) Consoled myself, sort of, by finishing the bottle of FC during USC v. KY.

Johnny Walker Black handle hit the bin last night. Excellent whisky at an excellent price, so I plan on replacing it soon.

I've been doing the same. Since I last posted in this thread I've emptied bottles of BT, Booker's, RR 90, and OWA. BT and OWA are pretty regular pours for me and I have more on hand; I'll probably be replacing the RR 90. The bottle of Booker's will probably be my last for a while.
