Brought a bottle of Jeffersons to deer camp and just poured the last of it, going to have to get something else to finish the weekend.

Finished up a Single Oak Project bottle, Barrel 191. Wheater. Tasty. Very close to a blend of Weller 12 and WSR (I did an actual comparison). Nice mouthfeel, short on oak, heavy on light/sweet. Not looking for more, though. The Project has run its course for me.

Polished off a PVW 20 tonight. Really enjoyed every last drop with that finish that seems to just last forever. Happy to have a few still unopened, especially with the huge price increase this year.

Celebrated ND's win and Oregon and KSU's loses with some buddies and we managed to kill some bottles while watching the UFC fight.

Never posted here before, but preparing for a cross country move, so over the last two weeks I have had an impresive stretch. Finished the last pours of quite a few that I had sitting around 2010 WLW, 2010 Stagg, Saz, 4RSB LE 2012, ND OT, ND Crow, PVW 20, Knob Creek, willet Pot still, Canada dry SW bourbon, 4RSB TPS selection.

With great sadness I finished the last of WLW 2012 last night. Fortunately there are 2 more where that came from. Such a great whiskey.

Finished a Colonel EH Taylor last night and a Bookers tonight. I didnt like the Taylor at first, but after a few weeks it seemed to settle out to a sweeter, more flavorful pour.

Killed off a restaurant bottle of dsp ky 16 old Fitzgerald bib from 1991. This thing has been open on the shelf for at least a decade, and I managed to finish the last third of the bottle by myself in the past two months. Crazy that no one else appreciated a piece of Bourbon history over the course of 10+years.

I think most would call us crazy for caring! I mean, technically, everything in a bottle is "bourbon history."

I dumped two languishing bottles into the 2 liter oak barrel my fiancee got me for my birthday...and it felt GREAT! Not upset at all about throwing out these empties:

My far-fetched hope is that this will end up tasting something like the PHC 2012.

But mostly I'm just excited to see what Frankenwhiskies I can make with this cute little barrel!

I'm sure you would've had a lot of guests over if you would've asked us here on SB. Last week, I finished off a V21 that's still sitting on my counter. It's still there because I love the white wax and the truly great label. I think about 10 friends had a pour of this one too.

I poured the last pour of an Elijah Craig 18 that I've had for a long while but hadn't finished.

Something very, very bad happened to that last dram and it tasted NASTY.

Pretty bottle, but now in the recycle bin. It won't be replaced with an EC20, which would cost about three times what I paid for this bottle.

In the last few weeks I've sent a few to the recycle bin. With a little help from some friends, Weller SR old label, OWA 7/107, Weller 12, and an ORVW 10/107 are now gone but not forgotten.

A bottle of Larceny and Ritt BIB,the Ritt will soon be replaced the Larceny will not, at least I got my rebate in a timely manner.

Said goodbye to a bottle of 18 YO wheated Willett, named "Cherry Bomb." I picked it up a couple of years ago in D.C. thanks to the kindness of another SB member who directed me to some great stores in the city. It ranked among my favorite old wheaters and I enjoyed it as much as many recent WLW bottlings. Not as much as the 2006 WLW, which at least in my memory, was the all-time old wheater blockbuster, but it was terrific stuff.
