mosugoji64
Forgive this little bit of minutia, but I just noticed a difference in my Weller 12 bottles. One I picked up in KY, the other in CA. The CA bottle has "Since 1849" and crossed wheat stalks in relief between the neck and label as well as numerals (including the quantity info) in relief below the label. The KY bottle only has a series of braille-like dots below the label. Does anyone know the reason for the different bottles and which is the current style? yountvillewjs
I live in CA, and my bottle is like the one on the right.
StraightNoChaser
Current style is without the wheat relief.
mosugoji64
Is the braille below the label the the BT dot code that people refer to around here?

fishnbowljoe
I believe the change in bottle style may have come when BT switched to the Weller 12 style bottle for all their Weller products except the WLW. That was also when the OWA lost it's age statement. Remember that fiasco? All my bottles of Weller 12 are older, and have the embossed wheat stalks, and Since 1849 on them. All my newer Weller SR and OWA do not. I'm not sure about the newer Weller 12.
Wall Eye
The Weller 12s that I've bought this fall have been the new style on the left. But now my local store has been out for at least a month :smiley_acbt:

mosugoji64
Are the Braille dots some sort of code or a manufacturing thing? Believe it or not, I got two of the embossed bottles on clearance at BevMo last summer for $15 each! That was after searching Louisville and finding one bottle. I thought it had been discontinued and was snapping up all I could find!
StraightNoChaser
In other news, WSR has a new label for the plastic bottles. Much simpler "WL Weller" scripted on the front, no large white label anymore.
yountvillewjs
The screened code on my bottle is 42041001:15am
