steeltownbbq
I've got some argon/C02 mix in my welding rig.... could I use that?or would if be better to just drink more and avoid the storage issue altogether?
chefnash51
Private preserve uses argon, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. Not just carbon dioxide and it's not too expensive.
BFerguson
That's GREAT news, BF! I've been using an old rig I had for my winery, but just might have to track down a few cans of Bloxygen. Thanks for the lead.Every now and then I encounter someone who complains that Private Preserve (& other Nitrogen systems) 'don't work'. It's all due to the weight of the gas, and the fact that they don't use enough and/or don't tilt the bottle. Argon is the way to go...or you can just drain the bottle within a month after you open it. :grin:You are welcome Mat. I have to say, imagining the tank behind the bar or hidden somewhere in you house certainly paints quite the picture. I wasn't expected that one at all. Hopefully this will get you fewer weird looks in the future if somebody is watching you cap the bottle off with some gas. B
mrviognier
It's not that obtrusive...it sits behind the bar wall, the hose snaking through the wall, and the pistol-like actuator hangs on a hook. Use it for wines and my whiskies. The cylinder will last me for a decade or more.
