Josh
Old Forester's new look has been revealed: Signature will be in similar bottles, but with 100 proof on the label. I like the new look. Old Timey but classy. I really like the use of gold, but that might be just b/c I was raised a Purdue fan. CUE THE SNARKY REMARKS ABOUT HOW OLD FORESTER SUCKS. CaptainQ
I think it is a terrific look. So, they are keeping the Signature name for the 100 proof? Big fan of Old Forester, here. Especially, the Signature.I like the new look. Thanks Josh.
StraightBoston
Thumbs down here. Old Forester already has the definitive old timey classic label.(Waiting for the inevitable Old Grand-Dad reboot...)
BradleyC
I've seen worse label upgrades (OWA and WSR). I kind of like this one but it does remind me of an Old Pulteney bottle. For the record, I also like Old Forester Signature. It's one of the few I buy by the 1.75L when its on sale.
ratcheer
I still like the even older Old Forester label, best.Tim

Especially, the Signature. Not sure if they are keeping the Signature name. When they sent out a survey about a possible redisign, Signature had been dropped from the label in THAT design (which was slightly different from the one above IIRC), so it's possible that the name is going away. DogfaceSoldier
That's a great looking bottle. I'm curious to see how it impacts their sales.
trumpstylz
Yeah, that is slick. I do agree though, the old paper label from the 90's was classy.
Beer&Bourbon
I like the classic styling; I think it's a huge improvement over the current bottles. ...but why whisky? Has Old Forester always dropped the e? I can't get behind that, but otherwise it's looking pretty good.
ethangsmith
Not too shabby. Much better looking than the current labels. I hope the 100 proof stays around- Signature or not!
Josh
According to whoever does OF's Facebook page, Signature will still be Signature, even with the new label.
Young Blacksmith
I like the look too.I've always got a soft spot for Old Forester 100 proof versions, have several bondeds, 100 proof's, and now will have to pick up a few signatures before I see the new labels around here.Old Forester has dropped the e since at least the late 80's. It was used from the 60's thru the 90's and for no telling how long before that. It was truly a classic. But, thanks.Tim
JeffRenner
Old Forester BiB was my dad's whiskey, and so I have a soft spot for it. I literally teethed on it (it was rubbed on my gums when I was teething). I definitely remember the wide green tax strips. And I still like it, even though it has definitely changed. I have had a few dusties from the 50's and 60's. I've just had a couple of pours of the BiB and am surprised by the butterscotch character, which is definitely reminiscent of the old stuff. White Dog
This is resembling a BOTM thread. Love the new look, and I think the current juice is pretty good, but it gets dismissed due to the awful packaging. And I love me some dusty DSP-414.

tmckenzie
I too miss the old paper label, and the bottle with the 3 dimples on each side. Handy for holding while pouring or drinking out of the bottle for tha matter.

I drank some OF back in the 60's and the most recent OF I had tasted very similar. The only problem is that it is somewhat harsher than it used to be (referring to alcohol burning sensation), even more so than it was in the 90's and early 2000's.Tim
