Flyfish
While passing through El Paso, we stopped at the Costco and picked up a handle of VOB for what I considered an outstanding price. Not till I arrived home a week later did I discover that the "outstanding price" was probably attibutable to it being VOB 86 rather than VOB BIB. As mistakes go, it was not much of an error. On our way home, we stopped at the Barton distillery in Bardstown. The tasting there included VOB 86. We didn't bother asking why they didn't offer the BIB. Free bourbon is still free bourbon, after all.
Special Reserve
Both the First and Fourth versions of PHC are excellent pours. I buy both unless they have some outrageous price on them.

Flyfish
Don, our Barton tour guide, offered us the choice of chilled VOB or room temperature. My wife and I opted for room temp. The young couple from Illinois next to us took theirs chilled and tossed it back like they learned to drink by watching Western movies. They were done in one gulp while we were still in the sniffing mode. For what its worth, we enjoyed the 1792 but there are a number of other bourbons at that price point we would rather spend our money on. Including VOB which is much lower in price.
