New House - Bar Room

So I moved to our house this past week/weekend. I'll get some better pictures but got almost everything put away in the room that's going to be "the bar". I added some nice curtains and lighting, it turned out nicely.

If I loaded the pictures correctly, the tower is my growing bourbon collection with the boxes on either side making up my "bunker".

Then the wine cellar in view, racking is 2 bottles deep, and all the boxes are full. I need to drink a lot...soon.

I think that's Family Reserve Lot B. However, there is a nice Black Maple Hill there!

Either way, you have a point. That is one sad mess to clean up should it fall O_O

No kids, I do have two smaller dogs so I should be safe. Most of the BTAC and all the Pappy is boxes up.

You clearly don't live in California, with the 'top shelf' bottles on the top shelf. Oh wait, yes you do!

My Pappy's, BTACs, dusties etc sit on the bottom shelf, with the gifts and replaceable stuff up higher. Same with my wine. Only takes a 3.5 shaker to fill the room with an intense nose and lots of broken glass.

Yeah, thought about that too. Eventually that tower will be replaced with a cabinet that has doors. Guess I should protect the top bottles in the meantime.

Not trying to steal the thread, but when we had the quake in DC this past summer. I came home, not thinking much except I was glad to be home. I went downstairs to find my wife's jams shattered on the floor, and our bottles hanging off the edge of the shelf. I immediately switched to putting the valuables on the bottom. That's when I realized God was a bourbon drinker.

They have high enough ABV they should be shelf stable.

I thought the same thing--that bourbon cabinet looks tall, thin and questionable top heavy. Maybe secure it to the wall?

I just learned recently that vermouth goes bad and should be 'fridged, so I went out and bought all new.

I know the felling you have.....
