Hey everyone, I was curious to find out if anyone knows what year the industry started using those dot-matrix looking laser codes on bottles?

I have a dusty bottle that has 95 on the glass...but it also has a laser code. So I am now hesitant to consider that the bottle is from 1995.

What bottle do you have and what's printed in the code?

It's a dusty of Old Charter 8yr 1liter I felt like picking up. It has a 95 on the glass and it had a significant layer of dust on it. The store owner said it had been sitting there for several years. I thought what the heck! I'm sure it's lousy juice ( at 80 proof) But it is a rather neat looking bottle.

I only noticed it had the laser code on Friday, so I thought maybe the 95 wasnt really a year indicator. The code doesnt seem very informative.

Where was it?? I've scoured (literally) all of DFW, if I left it behind it's probably not worth buying
