stiffchainey
Hello folks! This is presented as an original Kentucky bourbon, aged 6 years in Germany. It's a brand new product from a german (!) company. So, I really don't know what to think about this. Sure, it is an import product, the cost is sligthly under a Jack Daniels but above the Jim Beam, which are the both top selling brands in Germany...Some more info, sorry it's in german, but the pic counts...[email=http://www.rumundco.de/Whisky/John-Medleys-6-Jahre-Whiskey-07l-40--2755.html]http://www.rumundco.de/Whisky/John-Medleys-6-Jahre-Whiskey-07l-40--2755.htmlHas anyone heard of this bourbon? I never, ever heard of this stuff before...Greets, Stiff

cowdery
The Medley family was significant to the history of Kentucky whiskey, but there is no brand on the U.S. market today with Medley in the name and I don't recall there ever being a John Medley, either as a brand or a person. It's possible that this is pure coincidence, someone just decided it was a good name. But it's possible Angostura controls the rights to Medley as a brand name and this is something of theirs. I don't know if that was part of what they bought from Charles Medley, nor do I know if it was his to sell. If not, then what is now Diageo retained those rights when it sold the Distillery back to Charles, so this could be a Diageo product.
