sob0728
Timely thread. We had a bet with another team at our company golf outing last year that the losing team had to purchase a $40 bottle of whiskey to drink with the winners. We are settling the bet in the board room next Tuesday. Not too worried about being fired because three of the eight people in the room will be the CEO, CFO, and COO.
Dramiel McHinson
Sadly, I work in a facility where alcohol stored in one's workspace, belly or brain would result in a oneway armed escort to jail. But, I do have a home office where I store so much bourbon I had to advise the fire department to hose the office down first before attempting rescue of the occupants. I did have the presence of mind to store all of the reloading supplies at the opposite end of the house. I would never forgive myself if a primer popped and set my bourbon ablaze. AaronWF
Well it sounds to me that the majority of us whose work doesn't forbid alcohol tend to keep less tempting bottles in the office rather than more dear samples. That makes sense to me: don't keep something in your office that you'll find yourself wanting to get into when you get home. Rather, keep a solid mid-shelfer that is available when the occasion arises but doesn't tempt you otherwise.

deathevocation
I keep the worst bottle of "rum" I've ever had the misfortune of tasting in my office. A client gave it to me - smells like bathroom cleaner. Anyhow, if anyone stuffs up on the job, they have to pay the penalty and have a nip of this "rum" after work. All in good fun. BFerguson
At one time I had full access to non-denatured pharmaceutical grade ethanol for use in the lab. All I had to do was got to where it was stored and get it. Use was not documented.I have this at work, but for work purposes only. It is now highly documented-and secured. All has to do with being a tax free product. But other than that, nothing here. Like most-no tolerance for this at work, which is good thing in a medical setting. BWe have lots of 95% ethanol, USP, at work, which we use to STERILIZE gloves and surfaces. We pay out the nose for the bottles, so maybe we pay taxes on them. the Duff
This is why I keep Bulleit at the office. Also, I don't want the mooches drinking my BTAC.:grin:Exactly! Everyone helps themselves to my stash after work. I learned very quickly to not have rare bottles on hand.Depends on the month. Currently I have an Old Ezra 7yr. I tend to stick with solid but not flashy at work. OGD is also in the work rotation. This is my philosophy as well. Currently an AAA and a JTS Brown BIB. I try to keep them under $20 too. Lots of VOB BIB!

Bigspur2011
Zero tolerance at my work also, in fact I drive a company vehicle and if I get called in for a drug test, my breath test has to be 0.00.
Jonny.Applebury
Right now I don't have bourbon in my office but a blended malt, great king street.Let's see, in the past there has been GTS ORVW107 but I usually keep a single malt in there, that way I don't drink too much. If I have ORVW107 in there I'll be drinking as soon as I walk into my office, hence scotch.I'm being nit-picky. Great King Street is a blended Scotch whisky, not a blended malt. It contains grain whiskies (alongside malt whiskies), and is thus not a malt.As far as liquor at my office? Strictly prohibited. :smiley_acbt:
Kalessin
I can't have an open bottle at the office, but I'm okay with that.My home office is located one floor up directly over the cabinet bar, so keeping a bottle in here would be kind of silly -- and I like the ceremony of walking down and opening up the bar for a glass and a pour or to get the components for a mixed drink. Right now the open bottles are 4RSmB and WTRye101 for everyday, BMH for special times (it was a bday gift), some various single-malt scotches, and for very special times, my late grandfather's last bottle of WT 86.8. Trey Manthey
I started keeping a bottle of ORVW 10/107 in my desk drawer. My employers have this preconception of me being some kind of Donald Draper-esque damaged genius, and pressured me into keeping something in on hand. They asked me what I drank, and I told them "Whiskey. Bourbon or Scotch." They threatened to pick up a bottle of JD for me, and I refused on the basis that I would bring my own and they could reimburse me. Sometimes I realize how much I like working here. Max Power
I work from home so there's a lot of bottles at the office. There is also a 3 year old and a 4 month old, so I don't get to enjoy them until the real boss gets from her job.
Special Reserve
Zero Tolerance ? I would get fired for being on this web site at my work.I don't have access to this website at work. Hell, I don't have automatic access to things that I'm professionally interested in. I get access by having my boss grant it through our CIT. They spend too much resource restricting bandwidth. dohidied
Wow, I should thank my lucky stars that I work in a place full of Mexicans prone to groping, stoned salesmen, and hardcore pornography on cell phones. barrelslime
In my office I have a lead crystal decanter of white label Jim Beam. I get lots of compliments on the bourbon and when asked what it is I just say its a Jim Beam Product. I guess Im a tight wad, but its cheap to keep full and I guess my clients and salesmen think its sum expensive Beam nectur. I also keep a decaner of Crown Royal. ebo
Hmmm........... my "office" is a workbench. I suppose I could keep a bottle in my tool cabinet, but I'm sure it would be quite foolish to run table saws and such while drinking whisk(e)y. And.......... I would be promptly relieved of my job!
CoMobourbon
People generally frown on teachers drinking at school. But maybe I should keep a bottle of some horrible 190 proof grain alchohol under my desk so that when I finally reach my breaking point with some student trying to pass off some incredible bitching or bullshit I will be able to reach for an appropriate response.
