bourbonmed
The globe is thirsty for bourbon! Kentucky's amber elixir is soaring in UK, Germany, Australia. About 40 percent of Wild Turkey's sales are export. Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam, Makers, all seeing substantial growth overseas. Why? Better bourbon. Better marketing. Smarter consumers. http://www.kypost.com/2003/06/02/bourb060203.html Cheers to Planet Bourbon. Omar
Paradox
I'm glad to see bourbon sales up and all, but something you mentioned is what upsets me. Take Wild Turkey as you said having 40% of their sales as export. They make many export items that I would love to be available here in the US as well, such as Wild Turkey Freedom and even more Wild Turkey KY Legend Single Barrel, Barrel Proof. Something made here in the US should be available in the US even if in a very limited quantity and highly priced. At least give the consumers here who are willing to hunt and spend for a bottle the chance to find one. Just my feelings...
CL
I'll second that. How hard is it to distribute it at least in the home state of KY?
bluesbassdad
I'm with you, but it's a slippery slope. If they make it available in KY, then I'll bitch because I can't get it in CA. Yours truly, Dave Morefield
kgiammarco
It's a lot easier to get things that are only available in kentucky than it is to get stuff that is only available overseas (or duty free)... If anything, it's an excuse to take a trip to the bourbon festival (and return with a load of bourbon)...-Chris
