StraightNoChaser
My great friend brought a bottle of this back from his UK honeymoon last week. I went over last night and, naturally, we tried it. What a monster! This is not your typical HP. The peat is far more in your face with a deliciously rank flavor. The texture is thick, slightly syrupy, with good barrel tones to complement the thick smoke. It's almost as if HP was trying to be Laphroaig or Ardbeg. And a good job imitating they did I must admit! Some of the coolest packaging I've ever seen too!
TomH
Now for the hard question....great whisky....unique package...would you say it is worth $200 ?
Jono
Wow, the marketing department was unconstrained on this one! A Nordic inspired Scotch with dragon prow packaging in wood...which accounts for some of the extra price. Great chance to taste it. Was it merely imitation or unique on its own? StraightNoChaser
Now for the hard question....great whisky....unique package...would you say it is worth $200 ?I drink American whiskey, so to me, not really. And I've heard the US retail price (at least in Dallas) will be around $300. Price aside, it's good whisky and a cool fuckin' bottle. There's a Texas Edition single barrel Highland Park available here that's a way better value. Cask strength, 11yr single barrel and only about $70.Wow, the marketing department was unconstrained on this one! Was it merely imitation or unique on its own? It's probably the coolest packaging ever!It is unmistakably Highland Park, but with the peat amplified quite a bit. macdeffe
Coolest? I think the packaging is sillyIf anyone wants to pay an extra 100$ for a couple of cheap IKEA sticks, feel welcome. Or whatever your currency is. Edringtons competitors have better offers. I can get the Nadurra from Glenlivet for a third the price. It's a cask strength 16yo as well, just without all the sillyness. And its way better in my opinionSteffen

I wouldn't pay that much for any bottle, no matter how good the juice is.
