Bare with me, I'm a newbie (at least I got the abbreviation right). Is BTAC released every year? I stopped by a local liquor store and they had 4 of the bottles (no SAZ 18) for about $120 each. Seemed a bit steep, but google search did not bring me any better prices.

Cheers!

They've been released in late Q3/early Q4, annually, for the past decade or so, as far as I am aware.

MSRP for the last release was $80/bottle here in CA, so I'd figure $120 is a steep markup, but I've seen Handy for $100 and Saz18 for $140 at stores here too.

It is hard to say what the Cali prices are, but $120/bottle I would walk away every time. I walked away today from all but the WLW that was 80-99. The saz18 is the only one that took me more than a second to consider. It was $80. Not bad but also not what I was looking for today.

There is a spot fairly close that pours the Stagg for $11 and the SAZ, Weller and Handy for $13. Sounds like a reasonably priced tasting, better than dropping $500 for one bottle of each!

That is way too steep. Here in Dallas I paid 54 for my first George T Stagg at a discount store and 69 - 79 for the rest everywhere else.

The discount store was still making 20 -30 dollars profit from 54 bux. So at 120+ I would let it rot on the shelf. Sounds like they looked on eBay to see what they were going for and decided to sell them at just below that price.

Yeah you are probably right. They wanted $169 for PVW 15. I didn't even asked the price of the 20 or 23.

Unfortunately, here in CA we are under the thumb of Youngs Market --which means we are going to see higher prices. The best in state I've seen is $67.99, which is off of $50/btl wholesale. Hard to find in general, but I found them all at one point or another for about $79/ea.

Everything is more expensive in CA but I'm glad we have access to all the good stuff. I'd rather pay a few more bucks per bottle and know that I have easy access to every BTAC bottling every year.

Pretty sure I know that place. I told them to shove it when they gave me the $169 price in Dec.

Shop around and wait on the BTAC release in the fall.

You know what's sadder than a $169 PVW15?

The people who pay it :slappin:

I wouldn't go back to that store - they have auction site prices.
