Kyjd75
Well, , , had a great time at the Sampler last night. Only made one mistake--I actually drank all of the samples I was given. In my desire to accumulate a nice set of glasses, I overloaded, and paid the price later in the evening. No, no driving, but boy did I feel bad for awhile! I've had "bad nights" with a lot less to show for it than that....

Kyjd75
Next year skip the Sampler and bring just one of those glasses to the Gazebo. You 'll be able to sample 3 times as much bourbon...and they'll be unique and a bit more interesting.JonThat is my plan. This was my first time at the Sampler and I simply got "carried away" by the opportunity. Unfortunately my wife didn't realize what was happening until it was too late. I am not usually a prolific drinker, so it was not hard for me to "loose control." The piece of italian cream cake I ate during all of this didn't help!Yeah, I have to admit -- I was stupid!!! TheDude
I was particularly "impressed" by the cheap platic sample cups that Woodford and Maker's were handing out. I guess their sales must be suffering lately......

HighTower
I feel ripped off......not only did we get to the sampler at 8pm (As I was to busy enjoying everyone's company and the Scott/Thad/Randy show) but there were NO GLASSES LEFT. Not only that, but the state Burchy was in he decided for us to offer to clean up the hall once the sampler was over.I hope my paycheck is in the mail :slappin:Scott

HighTower
had I known that, I would have given you my set. I picked up 5-6 glasses without drinking a drop (designated driver that night). My kitchen cabinets are already overflowing with glassware. Wade, Thanks for the offer, but seriously I have that many bottles going home with me I didn.t need the extra weight in my bags anyway, plus.....my wife would have said wtf do you need more glasses?? Though I'm sure she will ask why I needed more bourbon! I think the glasses were pretty well gone by 7:30. Were you at least able to spend some time with Fred (mobourbon) and Jim Rutledge? Was Ian really in any condition to clean anything? Yeah, we saw Fred first up, had a good chat with Jim Rutledge and he gave us his business card and said to call and see where he would be in the days following to get him to sign the 17yo single barrels we picked up :yum: Haven't done that yet unfortunately, and I guess he will probably be busy on oaks day when we return from TN. And NO, Ian was in no shape to help clean up.....hell y'all saw him when we got back Cheers Scott
