DW2012
Hi, everyone,Recently came across Blanton's Gold Label (101 proof). Does anyone have any experience with this one? Curious to try it, but it's a bit price prohibitive, and considering we didn't like Blanton's Green Label, a bit of a gamble. How does it compare to other single barrel expressions? Thanks! Smithford
There's a thread from a few years ago where a few different sources confirmed that Blanton's are all pretty much the same, just bottled at different proofs. So if you didn't like the Green Label, I'd say save your money ...
BourbonJoe
I bought one in St. Martin a few years ago. Never opened it.Joe
fixbonz
kinda late on the post here, but i have a couple bottles of the gold and its better than the regular blantons imo but not as good as the silver which is bottled at a slightly lower proof, also export only. cheers! wadewood
Well if you believe Maker's Mark, proof makes no difference in taste. I disagree. I've tried all the versions of Blanton's up to the barrel proof. The bottle of gold I had was a cinnamon explosion. I named that bottle Blanton's Goldschlager. Of course being a single barrel product, there are lots of variations between barrels.
