onewman
I've seriously begun to consider insuring my collection This brings me to the question of how do you value a collection. If any can give me an idea of how to proceed I would be appreciative. Thanks.

Tico
I know some home policies will add a separate rider for wine, never heard of one for spirits.Im sure there is someone out there who will do it, tricky part is to find that company.
LongBeachScott
I would bet your homeowners policy would give you a collectibles rider. As far as value goes, I am not sure you could justify a replacement value for bottles that are no longer obtainable from retail shops. The problem being, who else could you legally buy them from. One possible drawback to contacting your homeowners insurance might be the flammability of what you are trying to insure. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to impose storage restrictions, but I haven't rtried it so who knows. It might be easier to deal with an insurer that specializes in insuring collectibles, wine collections, etc. Like Chubb, for instance...https://www.chubb.com/personal/insurance.jsp#/Valuables/Collectibles
unclebunk
Surely there must be a rider available to you or an insurer who specializes in such things. There are plenty of people with incredible collections of whisky that wouldn't risk a fire, flood or theft, so hunt around and you'll certainly find something.
