DreamTheater
I'm heading to Sioux Falls next week and am always looking for good selection/rare stuff that I cannot find in Omaha. And yes, i am quite comfortable with people that want to throw snarky comments about how bucolic these two locations are.Anyways, if there are any places that I should really check out while I am up there, i would be quite appreciative of some heads-up. Thanks all!
Brisko
Well, my knowledge of the Sioux Falls liquor scene is about 15 years out of date (and largely limited to which stores would "forget" to check ID), but the bigger names are Sid's Crown, and Booze Boys, and JJ's Wine, Spirits and Cigars. Also Hy-Vee grocery has a liquor section but I've never actually been in it. Sid's is downtown, on 1st Avenue just south of 11th Street. Booze Boys has two locations, one on West 12th at Western and East 12th at Cleveland. JJ's is on Western just south of I-229.I suspect the selection won't be any better than Omaha, though. And, I'm not endorsing these-- I've never shopped at any of them, so good luck! I thought Sid's was nice the first time in town, the second go around, not so much, especially after dark, get's a lot more seedy if you know what I mean. There is also a place downtown, it's more of a gourmet shop, but i've seen some interesting things there before.Nice town overall, really impressed me compared to what I was expecting. Stogeez downtown had a nice selection of bourbon also if you are looking for a place to have a drink.B
DreamTheater
Thanks all! I should have about 2-3 hours to bum around town looking. Should be kinda fun thing to do on my Thursday evening in between two days of LONG meetings. Plus, hopefully something to sip on back at my room.
