Enoch
I'm visiting Nashville TN and then moving through Bardstown, Frankfort and Lexington. What are the best liquor stores in these areas based on selection of Bourbons that may not be available. I'm not talking about dusties, only stores that sell stuff that might not be readily available outside of Tennessee or Kentucky. Trying to stock up.Thanks
theglobalguy
I can vouch for Liquor World in Bardstown having a great selection of mid and top shelf (especially for such a small shop). Liquor Barn locations in Lexington (and Louisville) having just about anything bottom and mid shelf, top shelf selection depends on the specific location at times.Enjoy your trip! If you are heading up I65 to the Bluegrass Parkway to head to Bardstown, you might want to also visit Packages and More Liquors in Elizabethtown. Similar size store to Liquor World and likewise a very impressive bourbon selection.

Is there any store in the Lexington/Frankfort area with a reliably good top shelf selection? I'm visiting this weekend, but may not have time to make it out to Bardstown. Is there any store in the Lexington/Frankfort area with a reliably good top shelf selection? I'm visiting this weekend, but may not have time to make it out to Bardstown. So to clarify, i'm Louisville based so my experience in Lexington is limited to day trips, having spent time at the Liquor Barn off Man o' War blvd, they had a very diverse offering including a significant number of tougher to find mid shelf offerings. My experience is when it comes to limited offerings, each store seems wildly different. I can visit one of the Louisville stores, then 3 days later stop in Lexington and find a dozen or so different choices. I'm hoping someone comments back with a smaller shop in Lexington similar to Westport Whiskey in Louisville and Liquor World in Bardstown. Will be a great excuse for me to plan a day trip! MyOldKyDram
There's not really any killer smaller stores in Lexington, unless I'm just having a brain fart and forgetting one.Liquor Barn bought the few that would've qualified.

Hershmeister
Check out Midtown wine and sprits as well as frugal Macdougal - both downtown with great bourbon selections. Plenty of smaller shops also with good shelf space dedicated to bourbon. Nashville does love it some bourbon!
