JLH3
Hey y'all, I've located a couple of bottles of Vintage Bourbon, both the 17 and 23. However I havent seen all that much info on them, except that they are KBD bourbons. Are they worth the money? For reference I'm a huge fan of PVW20, Lot B, 4RSmB and Willet 3 yr old rye. Thanks! MyOldKyDram
I'm a big fan of the 17. Never had the 23. For 50-60 bucks the 17 is a no-brainer for me. How much were they?
WAINWRIGHT
I also quite like the V17 and agree for a bourbon of its age its quite a bargain, unless pricing is outrageous I say give it a go.FWIW I think the V23 is overly woody and one dimensional, its a pass for me. GaryT
I bought my first and only V17 recently, and thought the nose was tremendous, and the palate was decent. Agree that for $50-$60 I would buy again (although buying from the distillery I paid $90, and would not pay that again).

MyOldKyDram
Well, the 17 is well worth that IMO. But I say go for it and let us know what you think!
Ejmharris
I had one if the 17 wheaters from TPS that was worth every penny I paid for it.
Josh
I'm not a fan of the Vintage series in general but that's a good price. The only way to figure out if you're a fan is to buy it and drink it! Expect something closer to Lot B & Pappy than Willet or Four Roses.
White Dog
If you found the Vintage 17 and Vintage 23 Bourbon sitting in the same place, the Vintage 17 may be the older Rye-recipe Bourbon. Both of those were out at the same time. About 2 years ago(or maybe 3 years?) the Vintage 17 became a wheater, while the 23 was long gone. In any event, they're no longer made. Never had the rye-recipe, but I really like the Vintage 17 wheater.
luther.r
Every time I see the 17 around Chicago it's ~$80. I just haven't been able to justify buying at that price. Now if it was higher proof it might be a different story...
White Dog
$80 is high. It was around $60 in Wisconsin, which I think is fair for a 17yr Bernheim wheater. But I'm a sucka for old wheaters.
