Man, I continue to be underwhelmed by these Master's Collection releases. I will say the nose on the "Four Wood" (oak, then finished in Sherry/Port/Maple) is wonderful, but then it falls apart in a wash of harsh wood. $100? Not a chance.

Woodford is close to jumping the shark with these 4 wood releases....they need to stick with what they do best and THIS is not it

I find this one to be excellent!!!! Initial standard woodford, moving to sharp bitters of wood, followed by fruity aftertaste. I've already sipped two glasses faster than normal. Good thing I bought two bottles.

What I meant was that I think they produce a product better suited for cocktails or mixing rather than drinking neat. To pour from a near $100.00 bottle to mix seems sacrilegious to me. It should be able to stand on its own legs as bottled and this one misses the target IMHO

I hope readers appreciate sacrifices posters make to this forum. To go back and forth and back and forth between bottles to arrive at conclusions takes a lot of work! Another sacrifice to this post is doing it while watching dancing with the stars, but that's a sacrifice to spend time with my little girl.

going back and forth between double wood, oak finish, maple finish, and 4 wood. conclusions. they are not for everybody. strong and bold and some would prefer smooth as water blantons. I like them!!

double wood is really very good but not in same league as the others. I do prefer the double wood over standard woodford.

maple is great, most bold of the bunch. a nice manly drink.

4 wood is the most refined of the bunch. has the heavy hit of the woods with more panache. lots of different character that takes a while to explore and appreciate. good wood with nice florals on the after.

oak still may be my favorite. maybe. tonight. or maybe the 4 wood? oak is both bold and smooth, great aftertaste. I'm going to have to try oak next to 4 wood a lot more to be sure. with only 3 bottles of each, maybe I need to get more?

I think most aficionados may prefer the 4 wood. It has a lot going on.
