Dave_in_Canada
It appears as though they're still selling the stuff. I placed an order last week for 4 bottles and received confirmation of same today! I was told they would hopefully be shipping some time in Sept. Paradox
Now to just wait for the email that they are shipping it. I do hope they let us know when it is shipped... I'd hate for it to show up when I'm in KY and not have made plans for it to be dropped off somewhere else.
Bob
I just spoke with Sean Hartig, and he informed me that Sam's has not yet received their shipment, but that they expect to have it towards the end of Sept. He stated that he would be sending out an e-mail to all that have placed orders regarding arrival date.Bob
mike1
I had my order in at Binny's, and they e mailed me a few days ago that they have not gotten the hirsch either, and the original shipping date of sept 1 was now going to be delayed by about three weeks. there website still has it on sale at 39.99,even though the text in the ad says that the sale price has expired. cowdery
Then the guy who told me he bought some there a couple days ago is lying.
Paradox
Maybe they made the price on their existing floor stock $39.99 but have not received the new shipment yet... Just a thought.

Dave_in_Canada
Direct from Sean at Sam's "If you could kindly report back (I forgot my password) I am going to send every one whom purchased an e-mail but until that happens I would be grateful if you could post the following: "The final barrels of AH HIRSCH are being bottled last and this week. They are hand bottled so this process takes some time. It is not here in the store on the shelf and when it does get here the price will go up to normal retail price which is why people are paying upfront A. To lock in the price B. To guarantee bottles or cases of this incredible spirit. I can't make the people from AH Hirsch work any faster than they are already doing so. but I can assure you as soon as the bourbon arrives I will contact everyone. I apologize for the delay but unfortunately it is out of my hands. Its worth the wait. Paradox
Thank You for the update Dave, that clears everything up. I just wrote Binny's since I did not receive any emails from them and I think some others have. I mainly did it to confirm that they do in fact have my order placed there as well. Hirsch 16 for $39.99 is definately worth the wait!
Paradox
I received an email today from Brett Pontoni at Binny's and here is what he had to say: Mark,Walter forwarded me your inquiry about the status of the A.H. Hirsch 16yr Old. I want to assure you that we do have your order (for one case), in fact it was the first placed through the website after we announced the pre-buy.The whiskey has been stored for a number of years at Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort, KY. They remodeled their "hand-bottling" line this summer, and the project ran over by more than a month. The Hirsch was originally scheduled to run through that line at the beginning of August. It is now scheduled for September 15th. We expect our cases to ship to Chicago on or soon after the 21st. This information has been confirmed by both the production supervisor at the distillery and by the importer who owns Hirsch's U.S. rights. As soon as we receive the goods, we will be immediately fulfilling all of our pre-buy. After the dust settles on that, the remainder of what we purchased will go into normal stock.I hope this hasn't caused any inconvenience or undue worry. We didn't do a blanket explanation on the delay, instead we address it individually as we are asked. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me directly.Cheers,Brett PontoniWine & Spirits BuyerBinny's Beverage Depot So there is the explanation from Binny's as well in case anyone else has order's placed there. I've got an order for a case from each place! There is no denying that Hirsch 16 is wonderful whiskey and will be missed once it's gone. Bunker away! tommy
So New York allows direct shipping now?
Paradox
I've always been ordering stuff from online vendor's Tommy... At least in the past 3 years since I've gotten into bourbon.
pepcycle
I live 20 minutes from Buffalo Trace. The bourbon will be bottle there, put in cases to Chicago, then shipped to my family in NY, because Sam's doesn't ship to KY, and then delivered by a relative at Holiday time. Bureaucracy!!! It's crap like that that pisses me off quite frankly... Our government should be worried about so many other things and instead they have these lame laws about where the shipment of alcohol can take place. Gimme a break already people, it's 2003! boone
During the tour at Buffalo Trace, we slipped off to tour the entire distillery. The best part was seeing the 8 bottling lines that they had. I was very entertained. It was nice for someone else giving the tour and me being the guest. I had a great time. Thank you, Ken Webber I owe ya one . All the workers on the floor were so friendly. We weaved in and out of every line. I think that Wanda must have told everyone there that I was a line mechanic. The man with me, Doug Fox, is my supervisor. He used to work for Buffalo Trace. So we got a really good inside tour. I took this picture. I nearly forgot all about it. I knew when I saw the bottling in progress that a lot of you have been waiting for this one. Hirsch 16 year, will be on it's way very soon. I told the girl that I knew a lot of folks who were waiting for that very bottle. Bettye Jo

Paradox
I just got an email from Binny's that my case there has shipped. So they are beginning to fulfill their orders. Sams also sent me an email about my case saying it is now in. BUT they want me to call some guy Miguel Padilla to arrange shipping. Weird as I always have all my stuff from there shiped and they know where to send it. Anyways, it's all in now guys to expect to be sipping on some REAL FINE bourbon anyday now!
