Kyjd75
I have a choice of bottles. Which should I get? Both 2012?
White Dog
Both, if you can afford it and have had neither. 3 years ago I would have said Saz 18, but today I would pick the WLW hands down. The only way to know is to try it all.
LostBottle
Well, with one being a rye and the other a wheater, they are definitley opposite ends of the spectrum. Did you get any VW? If so, mix it up and grab the rye.Taste is subjective and though many love the Weller, I have never liked it. Saz is the least produced of the BTAC and the only one I put any effort into chasing. Also keep in mind that while WLW will be produced every year, the current Saz juice has only a few short years left.Nice problem to have! TradingBoiler
Value is definitely in the Weller. I love this years Saz 18 but I would choose the Weller for dependable taste and value
Tony
I would go with the WLW but that is solely based on my love for it, I find it to be my favorite out of the collection.Best regards, Tony
HP12
WLW would be my choice as well although if I had the choice for both, I'd bunker down.
Ejmharris
If both is an option, both. Otherwise WLW for me.
fishnbowljoe
Get the Saz. Send me the Weller. :slappin: Just kidding. I just can't get into ryes even though I've tried. Wheaters, especially Weller's, are my bread and butter. I personally would get the Weller.

Kyjd75
It is supposed to be a gift, and I will go with the WLW, I think. Don't have the option of both.
LostBottle
Wow, I am surprised it is unanimous that everyone would take the Weller and leave the Saz. I wish you guys were the shoppers in my area:)
White Dog
If it's a gift, get the Saz 18. Unless the receiver will understand a cask strength Wheater, and most average drinkers won't, the Saz 18 has more obvious appeal.
Young Blacksmith
While this year's WLW is good, I find the Saz to be so much better! Go for the Saz and become your giftee's amazing angel.
Yeti
I think White Dog's point is well made. Weller is absolutely my choice as well, but the Saz18 is more universal in appeal (standard proof, impressive age statement) in terms of a gift.i was able to get 3 bottles of WLW 2012, and coming to the end of the first bottle it's knocking my socks off. Love it.

jeanraulmitchell
Both, then decide which you should gotten 2 of.
GaryT
If it were me (and I were buying for me), I'd go with WLW. I've just not been as impressed with the Saz 18 as I'm supposed to be (which isn't a ding on it; just candid observation that it doesn't hold the value to me that it does for many others). I've only had one WLW (2010), but it was amazing. Almost as good as GTS :-)

squire
As a gift I'm sure either would be appreciated, for myself I'd choose the Saz. On the other hand if the recipient isn't that choosy about spirits for the price of either of those you could get two bottles of good stuff and keep one for yourself. Pirate762
WLW all the way unless you want both (my choice). Dont dismiss the THH if it is available as it is an amazing rye.
