On my way to work this morning I passed by a store that will be selling their allotment of Van Winkle (no 23 yr) and BTAC (no wlw or saz18). At 6am there was one car. Just out of curiosity I went back at 7:30 and the lot was full with at least 50 people in line. I really wanted to get a VWFRR, but not worth it. Maybe I should have stayed, but just thought there is so much other stuff out there that is just as good.

Which just shows that there are ways other than dollars to put a value on things. If you measure only by taste/quality, there really may not be "so much other stuff..just as good." When you factor in the value of your time and your sanity, sometimes taking part in the hunt is not justified by the possible reward. Of course, some people actually enjoy taking part in the rugby scrum at the mall.

Our local merchants opened at Midnight and the crew left here at 11:45 . . . I went back to sleep.

Did it happen to be Midtown Wine and Spirits in Nashville? They sold their Pappy this morning. The lady told me people started lining up at 0530 to get it and they sold out of everything in 26 minutes.

It was Midtown. I drove by a 6:15 and there was a single car there. Drove back by at 7:45 and there was a long line outside. Nothing that I wanted to be a part of. Midtown is on the bottom of my list of stores to visit. I only go there occasionally because I work close by.

Do you know anywhere in town to get 10 year old Pappy? I've looked all over. Even hit stores in Knoxville today with no luck.
