I'm by no means an experienced taster, but tonight while some yard bird was frying in the iron skillet, I did a comparison. I'm not a notes person, just bottom line. Tonight belonged to Smooth Ambler. It was smoother than it's counterpart. The V17 had a little heat to it, but the VOS had none. Now to my bird.
