Got a couple bottles at Liquor World a couple years back but have never seen it again anywhere else, physical or online. Anyone seen it on shelves (and do you know if that store ships)?

Thanks - Mark

The Sazerac "Great bourbon" site doesn't list the BIB any longer. Ohio used to carry it, but it has been de-listed.

That would be Liqour Barn on Fern Valley Rd. I have a bottle of Kentucky Tavern BIB I got there several years ago. I bought two, and opened one, saved the other for the collection. I found it to taste young, and hot. Even in the same price range, I'd prefer VOB, Mellow Corn, JTS Brown...

Picked up a bottle of Kentucky Tavern BIB at Liquor Barn in Lexington (Man-of-War Blvd) on Saturday ... my wife suggested we make a bourbon run (really love her!) ... so, its still out there.

Can your wife talk to my wife?

Used to be, haven't seen the BIB in years.
Do you recall if they ever bottled KYTavBIB at older than 4yrs? (Perhaps before VOB was born?) KYTav was an industry stalwart at some point in the past, right?

Yes, they did, in fact the brand has quite a history in that it changed hands a couple of times during the glut era and each new owner used the whisky available to them at the time.

Prior to 1993 Kentucky Tavern was a rye recipe Bourbon made under Glenmore/Yellowstone ownership and contained glut whisky up to 10-12 years old Bottled in Bond.

Between 1993-96 under United Distillers ownership Kentucky Tavern was a wheat recipe Bourbon that used the same Stitzel-Weller stock that went into Old Fitzgerald 12 year old.

Now it's an entry level Barton product using their high rye Bourbon recipe.
