I can't just blame the lurkers. Folks have got to be smarter about plastering the locations of stores with inventory all over this board...

AMEN, Joe. In '10, I got a great heads up from a member IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE, and that was the last time I was able to get any BTAC. I never saw any of it in '11 at BevMo either.

Well, my apologies to everyone, I was only trying to help. Obviously the idea of a 'lurker' beating you to a bottle due

to my thread never occurred to me.

However, if anyone intends to blame my post on not getting a bottle of BTAC, all I can say is you're out of your mind.

the bevmos in my area had Stagg, Weller, and handy 3 days after their initial shipments.

I got the only ER17 and Saz 18 in my area, but that again was the day after the shipment.

Weird how varied it can be only being 1 hour north of LA

I would never blame anyone for trying to help. Fact remains threads like these can help non members, aka lurkers, as much as they help members. in a google search I tried for btac at bevmo, this thread is the first result...let alone searching this site specifically

what people do with the info they get is something you can't control. some will try their luck, some will hound every store in driving distance and wait outside for hours to get the first bottle off the truck.

chances are your post didn't change anyone's behavior or effect anyone's chances.

Although, I must admit if I didn't get any at all, I might feel different.

I understand perfectly what you are saying. I did not have any inside info on BevMo, I simply did what I normally do at least once a week, and that's check online inventory at my local BevMos, and anyone in CA who is on a BTAC search should have been doing the same thing.

However, if I feel inclined in the future to give a heads up, I will do so through PM.

I'm surprised that the online inventory was accurate. I've found that it's a 50/50 proposition when I check. If it shows up on the website as having stock at my location, that is usually correct, but they always have stuff that is not listed on the website. Last week I dropped by Bevmo and they had a bottle of Stagg, Handy, and Lot B. I passed on all of them. Last fall I was visiting friends and they had all of the BTAC except the Saz 18 at Total Wine many weeks after the release. Might be worth a look if you live near one and are trying to find a bottle. I have no information on stock so please don't take this as such.
