JLH3
I've had 2010, 11 & 12 Lot B, 10/107, 2012 WLW, Weller 12 and one glass of PVW 23. The best I've had is 2011 PVW 20.
WsmataU
Can't believe I'm the first to post this, but Louisville bottled Weller Centennial is at the top of my list. I'd trade all my Parker's 10 for a couple more bottles of Centennial!
gblick
I would probably have to say some ORVW 15's, and some Pappy 15's and dusty OWA's.
Tucker
It might just be nostalgia, but the best bottle of wheated bourbon I can recall drinking was a Weller 19. WLW 2009 and PHC 10 yr wheated twanged my buds the right way, too. The best wheated bourbon I've tasted recently was thiefed from a 20+ year old barrel of Stitzel-Weller in a rackhouse in Nelson county.
Special Reserve
Today the best wheated bourbon I've had is the PHC 10. When I think about it longer it would be high on the list of all time wheated bourbons that I've had with WLW 117.9 and PVW 15 in the running for top spot. Old Lamplighter
For me, it has always been (and will always be) a small cache S&W Lot B discovered in my wandering path during my early bourbon days. The light which appeared in my dark path guiding me to those bottles was kindly provided by our late, great friend & adviser Tim Sousley. I will always be forever grateful to Tim for his mentoring & advice when I was a newbie. Although I never met him in person (my great loss), I might very well still be wandering around in the 'whiskey forest' without his kind assistance. So, perhaps there have been - or will be - higher ranked wheaters passing my way or across my palate, but that Lot B will forever remain the best for me. Rest in Peace Tim and thanks again! ethangsmith
I'll be the odd man out in this thread. Admittedly, I don't like wheated bourbon at all. I've had some Van Winkle, Maker's Mark and a few others, but honestly, I actually enjoy the modern, 3 year old Cabin Still from Heaven Hill. It's nice for those times I want something sweet, not so complex, and simple. And it's uber cheap!

Tico
Some good stuff so far! Sounds like I need to get a few more samples of VOF and VVOF in my belly!
ethangsmith
Remind me, how many dollars in a uber?I'm buying the Cabin Still for $8.50 per liter. I'd say that's about as cheap as you're going to get!
squire
Not a best of but a best buy.
ethangsmith
I'm sure you'll all laugh- but for me it's both a best of and best buy. I have no idea why I get so much enjoyment out of that bourbon!
MrAtomic
Can't believe I'm the first to post this, but Louisville bottled Weller Centennial is at the top of my list. I'd trade all my Parker's 10 for a couple more bottles of Centennial!Oooh,Good point. Except I'd say any and all Weller Centennial -- Louisville or otherwise -- is towards the top of my list. And to think I used to pass it up because I thought it too expensive.

Doug, I think I remember that. The GBS was doing the "thiefing" if my memory is correct. Mighty fine whiskey.

squire
I've consumed a lot of whisky over the past half century and only a handful of brands were truly memorable. Centennial is memorable.
BourbonJoe
Probably the best wheater I've ever had was a 1958 Very Old Fitzgerald. Stunning.Joe :usflag:
