I picked up a baby Saz today. I haven't seen it around much lately. The guy told me it was the only 2 bottles he could get and they just came in. I couldn't resist. He took the other one.

Great price for W12. I'd grab a few at that price.

Pour it into a VW lot b bottle and you will really feel like you got a bargain.

Great price though.

Okay, well, Maker's, got any issue with that ? :) Got to try the 90 again before it's history.

Got a family sized bottle of Bulleit Bourbon for Valentine's Day.

I had enjoyed a pour at a local pub recently and hinted that the Total Wine had the 1.75L for only $29.99 and she took the bait. :)

Surprise appearance by a bottle of Baby Saz at the store. Wasn't planning on picking any up, but I've never said no before to this bottle.

My favorite store sells Bulleit for $16.99. I usually keep a bottle around, but it is not really a favorite of mine.

I had a delivery from TPS today.

4 x Larceny

8 x OWA (TPS barrel)

The OWA is difficult to find around here, and Larceny isn't available at all.

Sounds like a good price, our local sells the 750 for $26.95.

It's weird, the 750ml is around $22.99... yet the 1.75L is only $29.99. I definitely dig it for something different.

Take advantage of it while you can.

My thoughts exactly... seemed the perfect time to get my first bottle of it. I think I prefer BT as my favorite 90-ish proof heavier rye bourbon, but Bulleit is a fun diversion and the price was definitely right.

If anyone cares, my impressions between the two are:

BT: Earthy/grassy tones, leather, peppery spice, with varying degrees of vanilla sweetness depending on the bottle. The best bottles for me have had all the leathery spice type flavors up front, with a strong vanilla finish.

Bulleit: Almost like a 50/50 split of OWA and OGD 86, if that makes any sense. Somehow I get an almost wheater-type simple sweetness mixed with heavy rye spice. No real leathery, earthy tones like the BT... nor the vanilla finish. More simple, but still pleasing.

I like Bulleit with it's simple, straight forward, rye accented spiciness. If they knocked about $10.00 off the price I might buy it.

Is Bulleit much different from standard 4R expressions?

Yes it is, Bulleit is it's own thing, far less complex than Four Roses. Isn't the rye content of the mashbill something like 38%?

I'm sure someone will chime in, but I don't know. I thought they were like KBD - didn' know they had a specific mashbill.

As am I. Well, for the evening at any rate.

No idea if it actually works out that way, but I did read it on the Internet.

Went to an out of the way store and found OWA (7 y/o) in the 1/2 gal. And Wild Turkey American Spirit 15yr, and Wild Turkey Tradition 14 year for $75.95 each. Thought I would try them at that price I've never had them before. The few times I have seen them they were over $100.
