cowdery
For those people in Oregon who complain that they never get anything good, here's an interesting story. Buffalo Trace confirms that it recently found a few cases of Eagle Rare 17 from the 2001 release and they were sent to Oregon as part of that state's allocation. I heard from a person there who was thrilled to get a bottle of ER 17, then doubly thrilled to get one from that long-ago release. Of course, that begs the question, what else has BT misplaced? A few skids of Pappy 23 perhaps?
Tico
Same thing happened with some 2000 Saz 18. I know of a retailer who got this in addition to some 2001 ER17
cowdery
You may well wonder how such a thing can happen, but Sazerac has multiple finished goods warehouses at multiple locations, and in addition to whiskey they sell vodka and everything else, literally millions of cases of spirits a year. It's not hard to imagine how a few dozen 3-bottle cases can slip through the cracks.
