I have reservations at the General Nelson, as well, arriving on Wed, leaving on Sun. However, I don't know if I am going to be able to make it after having to take off work this summer to help with the family.

If I don't go, I will auction off my General Nelson reservation at eBourbon.com. Reserve will be anything Van Winkle. grin.gif

It's good to see that several of ya are going to be in town Wednesday...That's great...

I know that many of ya will venture to Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto...I wanted to let ya know that there is this little restaurant neaby..It's called, Hawks, located in Loretto beside Foodland...They have the best steak around...It don't look, "too hot" from the outside...but they "stole" the cook from MiMi and now "they" have the best around...

Just a little local insider info...

I have also taken note that no one mentions other places to eat during the festival...It's been Dagwoods (my personal favorite) Talbott...and that's just about it...I will only recommend the one's that I have had very good food---If I ain't mentioned them...The've screwed me one time too many...I frequent all of em...The one's that I mention are the one's that do a good job "every time"...Not that the other's are "bad"...They seem to have a hit and miss thing going on...

There are too many "fast food" places to mention...It's all your regualar's...Mickey D's, Taco Bell, Wendy's etc...

The new Asian garden...It's buffet style...really good all the time...

BJ's Bar and Grill...(and No...it's not my place)...The best "Prime Rib" around...

Breakfast buffet...Stephen Foster Restaurant...

Kurtz...best fried chicken in the state...

There is this "new place"...It's a sleeper too...It's out on Bloomfiled road...Near Nelson County High School...The name escapes me...but they have a all you can eat type of thing and on Friday...It's catfish and frog leggs...another night is Rib-eye salad and baked potato etc...It's right before ya get to the Fugi seal plant...Used to be called Woody's...

Bryan's "Hog Wild" bar-b-que...The best bar-b-que ya ever ate...It's walking distance...from the General Nelson...(So is the Stephen Foster)...

Just my opinion grin.gif...Your tastes may vary...I was raised in a very large family...The sayin went like this...If ya stump ya toe ya didn't get none... grin.gif Ohhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhh grin.gif...Those were the good ole days...Literally...So's that makes me a connoiseur "critic" of fine food yum.giflol.gif...don't ya know bs.gif
