Fresh Glass for Each Bourbon?

If you are drinking two or more different bourbons over the course of one sitting, do you:

1) Use a fresh glass for each different bourbon

2) Use the same glass but rinse it out each time you switch brands

3) Just use the same glass without rinsing

I'm wondering if my OCD tendencies are over-complicating the process of enjoying my bourbon. I've been rinsing the glass when I switch brands.

I am OCD in more than a few ways and I always rinse my glass with bottled water and wipe dry in between pours.

Nick Danger LOL....I would do whatever Nancy tells you....

I never rinse, I love the smell of a glass the next day, just like a campfire.

Drink, rinse, repeat, etc.

+1 for me. even though grabbing a new glass would be easier :)

Usually option 3. Sometimes option 2, but I always drink the water I rinse with. Gotta stay hydrated somehow.

Sometimes rinse and some times not. Use different glasses if doing tastings

Same here though I usually use a measuring glass and do rinse that. Pouring free tonight with no rinse .

I go with the stack of red solo cups. Quick, easy, cheap, and dishwasher safe.

First, the thought of drinking bourbon from a red solo cup makes me feel uneasy, like watching somebody burn a national flag.

Second, I usually don't switch horses mid-stream, but for tastings I rinse between each whiskey only because I don't have enough glassware to give everyone 5 glasses.

I don't really use solo cups. I might have to start if I keep breaking Glencairns at the same rate I/we have been recently.

Drink, rinse, repeat, etc.

And repeat, and repeat.

a quick rinse, a swirl, then dump it and get on with the evening.

I rinse and drink the water usually. I don't drink enough water throughout the day and try to make up for it that way.

Careful shaking the glass over the sink when removing excess water. I've seen a glass or two break in that process.

You mean Betty Jo Bialowski? I hadn't heard that name since college. Everyone knew her as Nancy.

Very pleased that someone here finally recognized the origin of my nickname.

#3 for me, same glass, no rinse, unless at a tasting. Then it's same glass, with a rinse and a swish and swallow to clear the palate.

Generally #3 for me. I have been known to rinse, and re-pour, but would be the exception, not the rule.
