Looking forward to new Stagg

It's official.

The barrels for the new Stagg have been selected. It'll be 15 yrs old, just like the original. No word on proof or production numbers, but it'll be available sometime this fall. We'll get an update at the festival.

Hopefully, each year's bottling will be distinctive in some respect (other than, and in addition to, the label) from its prececessors! Hint, BT: make it so!

Once again, I will be unable to attend the Bourbon Festival As if that wasn't enough to give me the blues, I get to read your messages of giddy anticipation over your trip to BT. In my heart I am very happy for those of you who will be at the festival and even happier for you few--you lucky few --who will be sipping nectar straight from the source. I wish you all a grand time.

Still, after reading Omar's latest messge, I realize that way down deep inside of me--in that dark, dangerous place we fear visiting--there is a little green monster that just wants to scream: Damn You! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!!

Phew...for some inexplicable reason, I feel a little better now. Resume giddiness.
