Just an fyi to those members in SE Michigan and those traveling through the area. The Brass Mug in Livonia finally received in their OWA 107 Single Barrel Bottling that was selected based on a tasting by a few of the SB.com members. Great stuff. I picked up 3 bottles myself and wanted to let others know it had arrived.

Great news! Thanks for the heads up. Just got my first bottle of 12 Year today and need to get a few more OWAs so this is perfect timing.

Thanks! I should note that The Oakland Cocktail Bar in Ferndale also just got their own barrel of OWA in. I had a pour of it Thurdsay night. It's fantastic. Cinnamon French toast with maple syrup.

Ill have to get out there and get one when I get paid. Though Livonia is out of the way for me and in the opposite direction of anywhere else I go.

Wine Castle in Ann Arbor also has their own barrel.

Yeah, their single barrel is very tasty. I was gonna make the drive out there this week to pick up another bottle until this thread popped up.

The store owner claims 8 yrs, but he hasn't received the certificate from the distillery. Therefore I make no claims to the accuracy until I see the proof.

Would I be able to tell the difference? Ann Arbor would be easier for me then Livonia.

Only one way to truly know. Buy one from each store.

Wine Palace on Middlebelt at I96 in Livonia also has a barrel of OWA. The owner told me t was 7 ears old. I had a store sample, took home a couple of bottles.

Wine castle usually has several single barrels. I think right now they've got the OWA and a Buffalo trace. Last year they did a couple of EC12 single barrels which were both great and sold out very quickly.

Their prices are often a bit above state minimum though which is a drag.

OWA has turned into my favorite everyday pour so it's great to see so many stores getting in their own barrels. I know GS Market in Royal Oak is supposed to be getting in their own barrel as well.

I enjoy OWA and EC12 about the same even though they are very different. I can't stand the regular BT.

Thanx for all the info you guys (& gals?). I grabbed a couple bottles of the Brass Mug selected OWA today. I'll try one tomorrow side-by-side with the regular OWA... should be fun!

Here's a question: Who actually tasted through the samples and picked it? ...And how did that work, exactly? I'd love to help out if another opportunity came along.

Every time I stop at this store I am buying this, I have I think four bottles now. I think helping pick this out is a problem because now I want a bunch of it.

Best regards, Tony

Tony and everyone else that helped pick the barrel... well done. Very tasty. I have been mixing a little of this bottle with some Weller 12 and man, great stuff.

I was hoping to get over there to buy some soon but I don't know if I will be able to in the near future. Anybody willing to help a brother out with 1-2 bottles?
