Better Bargain? Bulleit vs Knob Creek Reserve

Okay, these aren't exactly comparable but here be the deals - Bulleit Bourbon @ $16 vs. KC1B @ $27.

I've already bought 2 of the first and 3 of the latter. I've had a couple pours of the Bulleit, which I like and find represents the Four Roses style very well. I believe it's fine everyday bourbon.

I don't care for Beam Black and haven't tried much else in the Beam line so far (only the Kirkland small batch, which I found good). Yet, most reviews of KC1B are good to great with the only reservation involving price.

So, which shelf (if either) would you clear?

KCSB at $27 is a great price. I really enjoy the spiciness of the KC. I usually pay $35 in SC.

I pay about $27 for KC and $35 for KCSB. How does it get shipped all the way to HI for only $27? Grab some brother before the store figures out they have priced it wrong.

They're discontinued. They know the prices, they have 'em as 1/2 off. Funny thing - Knob Creek Small Batch is still $40. Bourbon enthusiasm hasn't really hit here, yet. They only had 1 KC1B out at first, I bought it and came back the next day - 3 more appeared. Here's the best part, my wife not only encouraged me, but asked if she should buy some (for gifts), too!

That's a great price on both, though I'd be more inclined to grab the KC1B if I had to pick one. $27 is pretty good for a 9 year old barrel strength bourbon.

State minimums here I think don't allow anything to go on sale. So we pay about 25 for a bottle of Bulleit and I'm not sure about the KB, but i'm positive its more then that. Both good prices. Thats all I can really comment on as I haven't actually had either.

this is kind of a zombie thread but I have a bottle of JBB open as well as a bottle of Knob (albeit not the 1b) and I also like the JBB more. I feel like this bottle is better than previous bottles, and particularly good, while the Knob is just OK, while I've had much better bottles in the past. YMMV

ive only tried JBB once. i probably dont like it because its 86 proof. i like it punchy
